In this edition of Fresh Fridays, Mekka Don spits a nice 16 for the 24Wired crew. The one-time law student is now pursuing a music career full time.
Remember when everybody was getting grills? Well those days are not behind us. Meek Mill, and French Montana were both blessed with their own gold mouthpieces thanks in part to Trae The Truth. Meek and Montana received the gift during the Houston stop of the Club Paradise Tour. ”Just got my move made. Trae Tha Truth treated me to a grill – a gold one,” Meek told MTV’s Sway Calloway after the show. “End up gettin’ a rose gold one, too.”
The grill master himself, Paul Wall, fitted Meek and Montana for their mouth jewelry, and promised Calloway that he would be next to receive a gift. “When we be in Houston, too, we really be in Houston,” Meek said. “We really f**k with the grills. Somebody might really be on the lean. Trae Tha Truth is in the building. Paul Wall!”
May continues to be a good month for Meek. The 25-year-old received a Range Rover from Rick Ross for his birthday, and his Dreamchasers 2 mixtape has been downloaded more than 2 million since, its release two weeks ago.

Four Florida students were arrested after footage of their fight with an unsuspecting white high-schooler was posted on You Tube, and Facebook. The victim, 18-year-old Celina Bennett, told police that she was jumped by the assailants, just a few blocks away from her school.The Life Skills Center student received a bruised eye and was hospitalized briefly for her injuries. While she didn’t know exactly who committed the attack, investigators were able to pinpoint the suspects and arrested Kennyque Lawrence, 20, of Sunrise, Keisha Fradin, 20, and Wayneisha Jones, 18, and a juvenile whose name has not been released. The trauma of the attack has left the teen paranoid. “Now I have to constantly turn my back everywhere I go, because girls obviously are jumping me for no reason,” she said.
Bennett is just one of many people who have fallen victim to a beat-down that landed online. In what has become a sad trend, many young people tape their fights in hopes of becoming stars on site like WorldStarHipHop. Last month an Ohio teen was arrested after a recording of her jumping another girl, somehow found its way to the well-known video site.

Serena Williams should make some cuts to her inner circle. The tennis star’s attempt at rapping hit the ‘Net last week, and while rumor has it that she’s serious about pursuing a music career, the Compton native is crying foul. According to Williams, the whole thing was (thankfully) a joke, and the song found its way online thanks to a not-so-loyal friend. During a press conference in Italy, the 30-year-old explained why the public was subjected to her lyrics. ”I was in the studio with friends and I wanted to do something and so they said – do this and it was for me,” she said. “The next thing I know — that was one or two years ago and then I read online that I was a rapper and so my backstabbing friends did that to me and so if I see them, I will act like a rapper — if you can get my drift.”
If she were to take the leap over into music, maybe Common can give her some pointers. In the meantime, the culprit behind the song leak might want to watch their back.

Reality stars Chad Ochocinco and Evelyn Lozada were spotted filming their new reality "Ocho & Ev" in Miami recently. See the pics inside….
"BBW" star Evelyn Lozada was seen on Miami beach filming her new reality show "Ocho & Ev" with fiancé Chad Ochocinco.
The New England Patriots wide receiver shot the scene wearing a t-shirt with OMG AKA WTF in huge letters during a talk with Ev.
Ev has been in the news a lot lately. Time will tell if the "BBW" boycott will have a bad impact on her wedding show.
And on her VH1 blog this week, Ev had a moment of reflection and seemed to see how bad the fighting on the show had become.
Last night’s episode was a whirlwind of emotions for everyone. It’s such a sensitive subject for me because I honestly see it from both sides. I’m not here to condemn or condone anyone especially given some of my choices this season, however I will say that once again last night’s episode and all that happened forced me to look at and examine myself in ways that I haven’t in the past. No matter what the situation is, I’m realizing that we as grown women are allowing ourselves to be placed in a position for judgment. I’m confident that I speak for many of us on the show that when it comes to creating a better balance for television, we are all working very hard to do just that. Many of us are getting help for our inner issues and striving to portray a more positive image overall.
Tahiti was just an example of all of us being a true work in progress…Hang in there with us, as we vow to grow and become better!
Time will tell…….

Few rappers can say that they broke a Guinness World Record, but Chidera “Chiddy” Anamege is on the elite list. The New Jersey-born MC, who is one-half of rap duo Chiddy Bang, earned his place in history last year by rapping for 9 hours, 18 minutes, and 22 seconds. He dethroned the previous “longest freestyle” winner by a little less than three minutes—but a win is still a win.
As they prepare to go on tour with Wiz Khalifa, and Mac Miller, we caught up with Chiddy, and his partner Xaphoon Jones, who challenged other rappers to beat his time.

Nothing like kicking off summer with white hot looks in your closet. And we’re loving the way both ATL ladies Marlo Hampton & Monica are ushering in the season. Decide who rocked the all white tailored pantsuit best inside…
Last night at a private screening for the Battleship film at Atlanta’s AMC Phipps theater, "Real Housewives of Atlanta" almost-cast member Marlo Hampton looked white hot in her perfectly fitting Valentino pants. She paired it with a White Iro tailored blazer, a silk white button down from Theory and the perfect pop of color on the feet–neon orange Jimmy Choo pumps.
But before Marlo rocked this look, Monica rocked an all white pantsuit (different designer) to her Grey Goose event she hosted at the W Hotel in Buckhead last week. She rocked a shell blouse and a gunmetal clutch. All paired with the perfect spring shoe–nude platform pumps. And a pop of color with a bright pink lip.
While Marlo accessorized with Chanel & Hermes bracelets and a Versace gold clutch, Monica kept her look more sophisticated with several strands of pearls…and just her wedding ring.

Rappers love to bite the hand that feeds them. The music game can be a bumpy ride, and at some point the public glare becomes too much to stomach. Retiring is definitely within their rights, but with so many people claiming to be done with music—but never actually making steps to leave the spotlight— but threatening to walk away from music has become more of a publicity stunt, and less of a believable proclamation.
Earlier today, T.I. became the latest MC to announce that he “wants out” of the music game, because he doesn’t like the direction in which things are going. Being that he runs a record label, and is the self-proclaimed King of the South, the idea of him completely walking away seems farfetched, but we’ll humor him anyway. In honor of Tip’s unofficial announcement, here are six other rappers who said they’d walk away from the game—but never did.
