The Dream is speaking out about his friend Rihanna saying it was her idea to add Chris Brown to the "Birthday Cake (Remix)". He added that if she has forgiven him, so should everyone else. Get the deets inside….

The Dream has spoken out to Billboard about Rihanna’s controversial "Birthday Cake Remix" saying,

"For me, it’s just music — two talented people doing a record together, doing two records together, and that’s what it was. It wasn’t about an incident that happened. The true thing really is to forgive, and… you want to believe in people."

He added,

"It was Rih’s idea.  Not only do we work together, but [Rihanna] is a friend of mine. And it’s like, ‘You wanna do something? Then cool, let’s do it.’ I don’t know how she got the logistics and how it happened — maybe she’ll talk about it one day. I showed up at the studio, and it was like, ‘All right, cool, let’s finish this record,’ which we probably should have finished the first time we did it."

All in all, he ended by saying, "Because this is about her, if she can forgive, that’s where she is mentally. As a friend, it’s like, ‘Okay, cool. Let’s roll.’"

So it seems like many folks are moving on from the Chris Brown incident from a few years ago.  On forgiving Chris, he said,

"I think [the topic] that should be more on the tongues is: how do we proclaim to be a nation of forgiving, and we go by all of these rules and everything, but we can’t actually do it? It actually makes you look weaker than your adversary — if you don’t have the power to forgive, but you lie and say that you did.

Interesting point.  Thoughts?

It looks like the visual for “Rella” was just a preview of what’s to come from Odd Future. The Cali rappers will be taking their act to the small screen for Loiter Squad, which will premiere on the Adult Swim channel on March 25th.

The launch of their sketch comedy show will surely provide a lot of random, and very off the wall  moments. Be on the look out for their upcoming project The OF Tape Vol. 2 dropping March 20th.

Tonight’s episode of Fuse TV’s Hip Hop Shop will profile one of the hottest labels in the industry, the Maybach Music Group. The special will take a look at the MMG starting line-up including MTV’s newly crowned ‘Hottest MC In The Game,’ Rick Ross. The unit that is Maybach Music just keeps getting stronger, fueled by Ross’ Rich Forever mixtape, which has been downloaded nearly 1 million times, and their forthcoming Self Made, Vol. 2 compilation.

As one of the newer members of the MMG team, Fuse will also air footage (see the video below) of the day they spent with Wale as he hit New York City for his recent show at Irving Plaza, in which he brought out French Montana and Miguel. Since dropping Ambition late last year, the D.C. native has reinvigorated his career, which was on the brink of collapse after getting dropped from Interscope Records. Flash-forward to the present day and Wale has seen his album debut atop Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts, and his latest single “Lotus Flower Bomb” hit No. 1 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts.

Hip Hop Shop is Fuse’s weekly show hosted by writer and pop-culture expert Touré . Featuring the latest music videos and exclusive artist interviews, the show airs every Wednesday at 11 p.m. EST.

On paper, the trio of Nas, Common and Q-Tip sounds like a dream come true for even the most marginally devoted rap fan. With all three men all possessing over 20 years of rap experience, the output has the potential to be explosive. Back in 2007, the Abstract teased that he and Common formed a duo under the name The Standard. While nothing has materialized of the union publicly, Nas hinted at the possibility of joining the collaborative effort.

The New York Daily News reported today that an insider with ties to the Tribe Called Quest front man confirmed that Tip is indeed in the studio but neither with Common nor Nas. It appears that Q-Tip is focusing his energies on his latest solo outing. “[I]n the studio, working on his own album,” said the Daily News’ source about Q-Tip’s current plans.

While none of the rappers’ reps elected to confirm news about forthcoming material from The Standard or Nas officially joining the group, the Daily News did offer that a recent conversation with Nas yielded some fruit, although vague. When asked if he would be working with the pair, Nas, who is also working on a new solo album, simply replied, “definitely.”

Could this mean that Nas is joining The Standard or that he will simply be working alongside his fellow veteran rap stars?

Hip-Hop Wired continues its 4-part series entitled, The Commission. The name derives from the Hip-Hop super-group that never came to fruition, which consisted of The Notorious B.I.G.Jay-Z, & Charli Baltimore. The group was designed around two of the Greatest MC’s of All-Time, which would have represented Hip-Hop at the highest levels possible. The aim of Hip-Hop Wired’s Commission is to bring you opinions from some of the most respected names and brands within Hip-Hop culture.

This four part series will examine the following subjects:

Who is Hip-Hop’s Next Great MC?”

“Who Is the Best Camp in the Game?”

“Has Social Media Killed the Diss Record?”

“Has Hip-Hop Lost some of its Masculinity/Is Gangster Rap Dead?”

We recently debated “The Game’s Next Great MC,” and saw Kendrick Lamar emerge victorious. In a close second, was Maybach Music MC Meek Mill, followed by A$ AP Rocky. In this segment we debate the best camps in the game. The competition lies between six crews in Hip-Hop: YMCMB, Maybach Music, Roc Nation, Bad Boy, Shady/Aftermath, & G.O.O.D. Music.

The Panelists:

Skoob - Sr. Editor at Hip-Hop Wired, Co-Host of Hip-Hop Unplugged & Music Junkies, has also worked for MTV & VH1 Networks

YMCMB is moving units, which technically makes them the “hottest.”  As one homie said, “Nicki alone crushes ni–as’ dreams,” when it comes to sales figures. But alas, aside from the Cash Money clique’s monster popularity, these guys haven’t been doing the kind of things that get crews respect. Wayne is hopping around in Kermit boots and making everybody wait for a lackluster solo disc; Nicki’s performance at the Grammys left much to be desired and Drake — well, he’s cool, but 1 outta 3 stars #winning ain’t gon’ cut it. If this was the “Camps I Fux With” Award, then I’d give it to Maybach Music Group. Please see Rick RossRich Forever.

As we all (should) know J. Dilla included the song “Crushin’” on his Mummy Records released Ruff Draft EP in 2003. What we didn’t know was the original version of “Crushin’” was actually produced by Waajeed (aka Bling47) and the beat was originally intended to be used for the late Jay Dee’s still shelved MCA album Pay Jay.

Waajeed had assumed the beat went unused since Dilla never mentoined it or got back to him about it. It wasn’t until Waajeed and Houseshoes chilled with The Funky President himself J. Rocc (Beat Junkies) that he discovered Dilla recorded the original version of “Crushin’” to said instrumental. If you’re not checking for Waajeed’s  http://bling47.com/, then these are the kind of gems you’re missing out on.

Don’t sleep, and rest in eternal peace J Dilla.
